According to OSP, former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta was proclaimed wanted.

Former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has been formally designated as a wanted suspect in four significant corruption cases by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP). These include lawsuits involving Strategic Mobilization Limited (SML), the National Cathedral project, and two more unidentified issues.

Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng declared in a news conference today, Wednesday, February 12, 2025, that the former Finance Minister is now sought and has to come back to Ghana right away to be questioned. He threatened to take legal action to compel the former minister to return if he did not cooperate.

Agyebeng insisted that Mr. Ofori-Atta assist with the probe and denied rumors that he had left the country for medical reasons.

Additionally, the Special Prosecutor refuted reports that on Tuesday, February 11, OSP agents conducted a raid on Ofori-Atta's residence. Rather, he said that the former minister had personally planned the raid in order to deceive the public and sabotage the inquiry.

As the agency continues to hold public officials accountable for suspected financial malfeasance, this most recent move by the OSP is regarded as a significant milestone in the battle against corruption.
