Guinness World Records (GWR) prospect Afua Asantewaa has labeled the recent gift scandal involving the special gift from the former Vice President as unfortunate. Her recent interview on state assistance during the record attempt in Accra has raised serious controversy. People ridiculed the ex-Vice President's action and labeled the young lady an ingrate but to Asantewaa, Dr. Bawumia's magnanimity in sending her the special medicine that was supposed to give back her lost voice deserves commendation.
And to what the author communicated by explaining why she had to offer an argument, she stated, "It's unfortunate the writer didn't get the import of what I meant. The drug was not a normal drug, it is a special drug that is aimed at bringing back exhausted or lost voice.
The fact that he (Dr Bawumia) had gone the extra mile to bring it from abroad means so much, means so much to me and my family. The fact that he wished to bring it personally is enough, it meant that he cared about my health. Wherever I mentioned Dr Bawumia's gesture, they commend him for the gesture, so in the said interview, I said that that special gift meant so much to me, so where does the ingratitude come from? It is sad, but l leave it in the hands of God."
She said "I was supported by people and government, to which I will always be grateful. It was all about that we received a V-8 from the government, but it did not happen, so you know how some individuals can play mischief?.
