Omane Boamah: Military engineers travel to Asuokow to solve children's risky school routes.

According to Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, the Minister of Defense, engineers from the Ghanaian Armed Forces have traveled to the Asuokow village in the Eastern Region to evaluate the difficulties experienced by students who must cross a hazardous body of water in order to receive an education.

This comes after a video went viral, prompting President John Dramani Mahama to order an immediate solution to the issue.

On Monday, February 10th, Dr. Omane Boamah posted on Facebook to reassure the people that the administration is dedicated to resolving the issue in a way that will last.

"Ghana Armed Forces engineers have already visited the Asuokow community in the Eastern Region, where young schoolchildren must cross this body of water to get to school," he said.

The Minister reaffirmed the government's commitment to finding a solution and emphasized the actions being done to protect the children and the community as a whole.

He went on to say, "We're working to permanently and urgently resolve the challenge the people and the schoolchildren of Asuokow are facing, as President John Dramani Mahama assured Ghanaians."
