National Security intercepted 12 cartons of bogus US dollars and suspected gold bars.

National Security agents discovered a huge amount of counterfeit money and suspected gold bars hidden within twelve 20-foot shipping containers.

Officers searched a warehouse in Sapeiman, within the Ga South Municipality, on a tip-off, and discovered the illicit cache.

Bundles of counterfeit US dollars were discovered inside wooden crates that had been concealed in cement to prevent discovery. Other goods confiscated included counterfeit Ghana cedi notes as well as phony Ghana Army uniforms and boots, prompting additional security concerns.

Authorities have confirmed that two of the containers have yet to be found, and attempts to locate them have increased.

Meanwhile, a manhunt has begun for four people, including a suspected mastermind known only as Alhaji. National Security has informed the public that investigations are proceeding to destroy the operation and bring all responsible parties to justice.
