Ablakwa challenges Afenyo-Markin over a GHC15K salary claim.

In an appearance on The Key Points with presenter Alfred Ocansey, Minister of Foreign Affairs Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa delivered a direct challenge to Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin. Hon. Ablakwa ordered that Afenyo-Markin give documentation to back up his allegation that he only earns GHC15,000 as a Member of Parliament during his vetting.

I challenge the Honourable Afenyo-Markin to show that during the vetting, I stated that I only earned GHC15,000. Have you heard me say that?

Ablakwa was questioned at an interview on Saturday, February 8. He underlined that the proceedings were aired live across numerous media channels, making it simple to confirm remarks made throughout the session.

Ablakwa further cited Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga's words on the floor of Parliament, which confirmed that MPs receive more than GHC15,000. He further explained that MPs get rent allowances in addition to their base wage, a practice that began with the transition from housing MPs in specified quarters to granting rent allowances.
