Parliament has vetted and approved the names of three more ministers: Haruna Iddrisu as Minister of Education, Kwame Governs Agbodza as Minister for Roads and Highways, and Eric Opoku as Minister of Food and Agriculture. The Appointments Committee yesterday put the nominees through a rigorous vetting exercise, querying them on their qualifications, experience, and plans for solving challenges in their areas of work. After hours of deliberations, the committee, by consensus, recommended their approval.

Today's plenary, presided over by Second Deputy Speaker Andrew Amoako Asiamah, saw extensive deliberation regarding the policy agenda and qualification of the nominees. The Minority and Majority praised the temperament and ability of the appointees before eventually agreeing.

The approved nominees are to assist in spearheading the government's development agenda. This ratification comes in the wake of Parliament's ratification of some of the most important nominations, including Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson as Minister of Finance, Mr. John Abdulai Jinapor as Minister of Energy, and Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine as Attorney-General and Minister of Justice.

Second Deputy Speaker Andrew Amoako Asiamah conducted the confirmation of these appointments as Speaker Alban Bagbin was absent. Six ministry nominations have been confirmed to date.
