Ghana Publishing Company Limited (GPCL) took the added step of simplifying its printing and publishing endeavors with the opening of a 24-hour economic service to better enhance its business.
On Monday, 3rd March 2025, when the 24 hour working system was put into practice, GPCL Acting Managing Director, Nana Kwasi Boatey, said the project, piloted in the company's Accra offices, is designed to increase productivity, cut turnaround time, and drive economic growth at the national level.
Nana Kwasi Boatey further contributed that the new 24-hour operation would enable the company to respond to growing demand for quality publishing and printing services within Ghana.
"Today is a turning of the company's course. It is a move towards efficiency and economic transformation. For the last 60 years, Ghana Publishing Company Limited has been at the forefront of company progress. From government gazettes, official publications, legal treatises, books, and company registers to print. Our company has been the terminus of the flow of information in Ghana.".
But the world is progressing at a too rapid rate, and so is the printing industry.
The pressure to work at high speed, be accurate, and become computerized forced us to work on the project of how to approach the strategy," he added. We cannot fall behind in this era of rapid technology. It's due to that motivation that we have introduced the 24-hour working system today."
The Government Communications Minister, Mr. Felix Kwakye, and staff members are among those invited to attend the inauguration marking ceremony. The Government Communications Minister, Mr. Felix Kwakye, himself also commended the initiative of the company, citing the necessity to take publishing government affairs into the digital arena. He further added on top that the project is within the government's overall digital transformation agenda as well as its commitment to enhancing service delivery in the public sector.
