The NPP's National Council of Elders met with the 2024 Election Review Committee to address the poor election outcome.

On 25th February 2024, the NPP National Council of Elders sat with the 2024 Election Review Committee to review the party's performance in the just-ended elections. The purpose of the meeting was to identify areas of improvement and strategize on how to improve the party's organizational dynamics and electoral performance.

Led by Prof. Christopher Ameyaw-Akumfi, the National Council of Elders presented a comprehensive report with major recommendations and suggestions. The report addressed various aspects of the party's effectiveness, including campaign strategies, voter turnout, and relationships within the party.

The Chairperson of the National Council of Elders, the Honorable Hackman Owusu-Agyemang, emphasized the importance of introspection and self-examination in order to make the party more effective. He stated, "We must admit our weaknesses and solutions must be found to them."

The Rt. Hon. Aaron Mike Ocquaye-led 2024 Election Review Committee, the immediate past Speaker of the Parliament of Ghana, has been tasked with conducting a thorough review of the party's performance in the 2024 general elections. The report and recommendations of the committee will inform the party's strategy going forward in subsequent elections.

The consultations between the Review Committee for the Elections and the National Council of Elders signal a vital breakthrough for the party to rethink its methods and grow in terms of competence. The fact that NPP is finding it difficult to recapture momentum in the face of a disapproving poll makes the cooperative initiative central in helping identify areas where improvements should be made.
