NDC National Chairman, Johnson Asisedu Nketia, claimed that the party will retain the pins to pin the members of the outgoing New Patriotic Party (NPP) government for corruption. In Somanya, Eastern Region, Asiedu Nketia indicated that the NDC government will be pinned for the outgoing government appointees and the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) members.
He reemphasized that the corrupt members of the previous government would be probed and prosecuted by the NDC. "If you are a criminal or a thief, the choice must be frightening. None of our own corrupt individuals will be spared under our administration," Asiedu Nketia claimed.
This remark came after the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) identified the former Minister of Finance as a fugitive in current investigations for corruption. Asiedu Nketia, in a promise, vowed on oath that the NDC government would be honest and transparent enough to avoid corruption in the public sector and secure the rights and interests of the people of Ghana.
To him, "Wherever Ken Ofori-Atta goes, we will get him by all means. He has to come and show up before us to provide answers in several cases. All previous officials found entangled in corruption shall be made to face justice."
He further said that the government itself would not be left behind, and no current or previous public official who had engaged in corruption would go free.We will tighten the noose of accountability, and even the corrupt members of this government will not be exempted," he pledged.
